Auxiliary Detectors for the Enge Spectrograph
|
Yale LampShade Array (YLSA)
- YLSA is made up of ion implanted silicon strip detectors manufactured by micron semiconductor ltd. (UK)
- 5 detectors with 16 strips each, 80 energy + 80 time channels
- Using detectors with many strips on one wafer allows angles to be measured AND reduces the electronic noise of each channel
- YLSA subtends q=131°-166° and has a lab efficiency of 14%

Branching RAtio Detector at Yale (BRADY)
- BRADY consists of two 2 silicon detectors, each with 16 strips
- like YLSA, BRADY can be mounted within the scattering chamber
