Coulomb Barrier

This program calculates the lab-frame kinetic energy necessary to overcome the Coulomb barrier for a given beam, as a function of target mass.

You enter:

• Beam element (symbol or atomic number, case insensitive)
• Beam mass
• Range of acceptable target masses

The program will display a graph of lab-frame kinetic energy versus target mass for all stable targets with masses within the given range.

You may also indicate if you want targets to be labeled with element and mass on the graph.

It is recommended that you choose at least 2 amu for the lower limit for target mass.
