CSCAN is both the online and offline sorting program used by the
experimental nuclear structure group. CSCAN sorts data and writes out
*.spe (1d), *.mat (2d), and/or *.cub (3d) histograms that can be read
by various RadWare programs.
CSCAN works on both UNIX and LINUX systems.
To obtain the most recent version of cscan, download the tar file to the directory of your choice;
then
> tar -xvf
CSCAN_Jan04.tar
This will make a new directory "CSCAN_Jan04" with the necessary files. Contact Jo Ressler if you have any problems or questions with the download. If you are at Yale, you can copy the tar file from /home/jo/CSCAN/ on galileo, or the file set from /home/jo/CSCAN/CSCAN_Jan04.
All older editions of the CSCAN package can be copied from /home/jo/CSCAN/ on galileo.
If you want to be added (or removed) from the cscan mailing list, please contact Jo Ressler.
The CSCAN user's guide is also updated from time to time -- this document was written primarily for the visiting or inexperienced experimentalist sitting on shift, but may be useful to you;
