Welcome
The aim of the workshop is to encourage the exchange of ideas on some of the physics opportunities that can be pursued at university facilities, such as the Tandem here at the Wright Nuclear Structure Laboratory, with the particle detectors, magnetic spectrometers, and
As always, we plan to keep the meeting as informal as possible and to maximize the exchange of (novel) ideas and open discussion.
Some of our ideas for interesting physics goals and instrumentation issues to be addressed include:
- Nuclear structure physics using gas filled separators
- Phase/shape transitions
- p-n interactions
- Chiral symmetry in nuclei
- Lifetimes and magnetic moments
- Studies of neutron rich nuclei
- Off line decay studies
- Topics in nuclear astrophysics
- Spectrometers, charged particle and neutron arrays, recoil fragment detectors and solenoids.
