TRANSPORTATION to NEW HAVEN - YALE

AIRPORTS:

Tweed-New Haven Airport is a 10-minute drive to the Yale Campus.

Taxi rides approximately $8 -$12 per trip (not per person).

The Connecticut Limousine Service provides bus transportation from:

  • Bradley International Airport (1 hr./$21/one way)
  • J. F. Kennedy and LaGuardia Airports (1 1/2 hrs./$38/one way)
  • Newark Airport (New Jersey) (2 hrs. /$41/one way)

Reservations are not necessary. Look for Ground Transportation signs in the baggage area of the airport and go to the Connecticut Limousine telephone. Pick up the telephone and tell the dispatcher where you are and he/she will tell you where and when to meet the bus.

The Connecticut Limousine Terminal in New Haven is about a 10-minute taxi ride to WNSL.

Logan Airport outside of Boston is about 2 1/2 - 3 hrs from New Haven by car or train from Boston.

Driving from New York to New Haven:

From J. F. Kennedy Airport:

Take the Van Wyck Expressway to the Whitestone Bridge then follow signs for New England, I-95. Take I-95 to Connecticut. When you get to New Haven you will see signs for I-91. Take I-91 North (toward Hartford) and continue for a short distance(~1/2 mile) on I-91 to Exit 3 (Trumbull Street). Take Exit 3 and stay in the middle lane and continue straight through the traffic light onto Trumbull Street. Continue on Trumbull Street to the first traffic light after the exit and take a right onto Whitney Avenue. At the second traffic light on Whitney Avenue (at the intersection of Humphrey and Whitney) take a left into the parking lot for 260/272 Whitney Avenue. WNSL is in the upper right hand corner of the parking lot. It is a building without windows. Come in the blue doors on the left at the Parking Lot level. The Control Room is straight down the corridor on your left.

From LaGuardia Airport:

Take the Whitestone Bridge then follow signs for New England, I-95. Take I-95 to Connecticut. When you get to New Haven you will see signs for I-91. Take I-91 North (toward Hartford) and continue for a short distance (~1/2 mile) on I-91 to Exit 3 (Trumbull Street). Take the Mass Turnpike (I-90west) to I-84 West to I-91 South — follow I-91 south to New Haven to Exit 4 (State Street). Take a right at the bottom of the exit ramp (which is Humphrey Street). Cross over State Street at the traffic light and continue on Humphrey Street for 2 blocks. At the third traffic light — Whitney Avenue (at the intersection of Humphrey and Whitney) go straight through the intersection into the parking lot for 260/272 Whitney Avenue. Driving from Bradley Airport (Hartford/Windsor Locks) to New Haven:

I-91 South to New Haven to Exit 4 (State Street). Take a right at the bottom of the exit ramp (which is Humphrey Street). Cross over State Street at the traffic light and continue on Humphrey Street for 2 blocks. At the third traffic light -- Whitney Avenue (at the intersection of Humphrey and Whitney) go straight through the intersection into the parking lot for 260/272 Whitney Avenue. WNSL is in the upper right hand corner of the parking lot. It is a building without windows. Come in the blue doors on the left at the Parking Lot level. The Control Room is straight down the corridor on your left.
